I ordered this book because my mother is from Czechoslovakia. She always spoke about what a great person and president Maserak was. My mother survived Auschwitz. I wanted to read about what life was like during the times prior to World War II and to read about someone else's experiences during and after the war. I have only read a few chapters. I am finding it very informative and interesting to learn about the beginnings, history, people of this region.
