Sidney Sheldon's Angel of the Dark

Murder, lies and lust…it’s classic Sidney Sheldon! And Tilly Bagshawe has mastered the master’s style as Sidney Sheldon’s Angel of the Dark opens with a brutal murder. The victim is elderly Andrew Jakes, a multimillionaire killed in his Hollywood home, his young wife beaten and raped and his art and jewels stolen. When the police fail to turn up one single piece of evidence, the crime moves to the cold files and the only witness, the stunning widow, vanishes.

Fast-forward 10 years. Jakes’ estranged son, Matt Daley, is looking into his father’s murder when he makes an eye-opening discovery. Three men, each elderly, each newly married, have been killed—and each of their trophy wives were assaulted. What’s more, in every case, the widow donated her newfound wealth to children’s charities.

Matt takes his suspicions to L.A. investigator Danny McGuire, where he learns the police have been seeking a woman, a mysterious beauty they’ve dubbed the Angel of Death, who travels across the globe managing to stay one step ahead of the law. But as Matt pursues her intriguing shadow, and the two enter a tantalizing game of cat and mouse, he learns nothing is what it seems.…

It was a great book. Kept my interest with all it's twists and turns. Not crazy about the ending.

Good book

Pretty good whodoneit. It kept my interest. I don't know why Tilly feels the need to attach to Sheldon's name. In fact I think Tilly would do better to just claim it on her own so everyone wouldn't be expecting the Sheldon style.

I enjoyed it
May 04, 2012

Although I think there's no one who can compare to Sidney Sheldon, I do think Tilly did a great job with her last two novels. I really enjoyed Angel of the Dark and look forward to more novels by Ms. Bagshawe.

I was disappointed.

I have read all of Sidney Sheldon's books also, but I have been quite disappointed with the last two--I think some one is trying to borrow his name for his reputation.
