American Highway Large Print Road Atlas

GPS navigation systems are great, but there’s nothing like spreading out a map and seeing the big picture when planning a trip. That’s where the American Highway Large Print Road Atlas comes in.

Published in a large 15" x 11" format and fully updated with the latest street information, this atlas—which covers all of the USA, Canada and Mexico—features color-coded road networks and topographic detail that make the maps clearer and more enjoyable to use. But that’s not all. Also featuring 330 city and metro inset maps, an index to 23,500 cities and towns, interstate speed limit information, a mileage chart and drive-time map, border-crossing notes and gas-saving tips, you’ll find it to be a must-have resource on all your road trips.

Large print is nice, but with shortcomings

I like the Atlas, but wish it showed more smaller towns. That is one thing you give up with a large print atlas. I knew that and can adapt to it.

AARPers may really like this.

I have aged to the point where the useful road maps from places like Rand McNally and AAA are now challenges. I usually need a magnifying glass to read a great deal of the information. This was easily read with my usual glasses. True, because of the size of the print a lot of the detail was not available as it would be on a smaller print atlas. But I was able to see some solutions for problems I had wondered about. I was surprised that there were as many city maps as were included, but they were crammed in to get as many as possible. I don't think the scale was the same for all of them, making it hard to compare. As a start of trip planner, or an emergency where to go next this would be very useful. And because a lot of the smaller detauil wasn't there some of the things were included were more easily eye-catching. Levy's Law of Diminishing Returns of Vacation Trips - the longer the trip planned, the more things have to be eliminated during the trip. This book would help to solve that problem by not showing all of the attractive places.

Easy to read but surprised at lack and indications of small towns.

I was disappointed in this Atlas. It is easy to read and I assume because of the large print there was not room to show a lot of cities and towns. I was unable to find several that I wanted to see.
