Remember when you were a child and would pretend the most wonderful adventures and they seemed so real and so fun? This is how I feel again when I read Terry Brooks. He has got to be the best fantasy author that ever was. I have read all of his books, and he has become one of my new favorites. You can't go wrong with any of his books.

If you are into fantasy, this book is a classic foundation for any library. Maybe I have a soft spot because Sword of Shannara was the first fantasy novel that I ever read; but, I think it ranks up there with the best works in the genre.

I have always loved fantasy adventures due to the fabulous Terry Brooks novels. Shannara became a true place for me to escape from school for a short while and follow Shea and Flick on a fantastic journey to find the Sword. As I grew I followed Wil and Amberle to the Bloodfire and even cried when Brin witnessed Allanon's passing from the Four Lands. Brooks books are one of a kind. May he inspire all those who fight for what is good and true, against the forces of evil.

Well, Terry Brooks might not be quite the caliber of Tolkien, but hey, who is? Still, he's close. His Shannara series represent some of the most enjoyable and memorable fantasy novels I have ever read. I've lost most of my orignial paperback copies over the years, so I'm delighted so see some of them back in print in this format. When do we get his second series? I'm looking forward to reading them again, after I'm finished with the Lensmen, of course.
