I started reading LKH books in college and fell in love. Laurell is one of my favorite writers and has been for the last ten years. The Anita series kept me going through my freshman reading class and were the subject of four book reports I had to write. Just started the Merry series in the last month and am in love with it. Can't wait to see whats next.

I love this series. I have only read 4 so far but I love them. I enjoy the fantasy part of them and find the sexual part very erotic. I can't wait to get the rest of them!

I came to L.K.H. late in the game and found her books to be fascinating. I read all of the Anita Black books twice and am now reading Merry Gentry series. At first I found the Merry Gentry series a little harder to get into because so many characters were introduced at one time and they didn't seem as real to me as the characters in the Blake series, but I love them now and now I'm halfway though the 6th book in this series and will probably read them all again as I find I miss her characters when I'm done with the last book. Am surprised that the explicit sex scenes don’t bother me as I really don’t care for that type of thing usually and can’t believe I’m starting, at age 64, to read them with no problem. Can't wait for more books from both series.

I have not read any of Laurell's books (probably because of the cover art.----- I know, I know) But I have bought most of them for my daughter because she was out of reading material. she loves them, which surprised me a little. She says they create a world that is believable and quite different then the fairy stores I told her as a child. I asked her if there wasn't a bit to much sex in it, she said "Not much more then real life". I quit talking to her about it!

I have read the 1st three books in this set only to give it up. I do feel that there is a real good story line if LKH would give up the fashion reports. It seams like (To me at least) she describes each person in the book in great three page detail not once but over and over. She spends to much time talking about their hair. If she described each person once, I think the 1st three books would have been only one book. Each book is 50% sex (which is cool) 25% action and 25% person description. 20% of person description should have been put into action. Please, less filler and more action.
