Patricia Cornwell's Scarpetta series used to be something I would wait on with bated breath. I couldn't wait to read the next one. It's been a long time since she wrote one that is anywhere close to the calibur of her old ones. This one is a boring disappointment as usual.

I have always loved the Scarpetta books but the last two books have been very disappointing. The books were much too long with a lot of boring information. Make the next shorter and to the point.

I love the Scarpetta Books. I have read everyone from the beginning. But this one was a big disappointment. I barely made it through the first 100 pages. I trudged along and the story did pick up. I hope this isn't a new style for Cornwell because if it is I won't read her anymore. What was she thinking?

Lots of information, maybe even information overload. More time should have been been spent on character development. I could not have cared less about any one of the characters. If any of them were bumped off, at any time, it did not matter to the story line. Not worth the time.

I have read every Scarpetta book and was never disappointed until this one. Kay Scarpetta was not her usual self-sufficient, tough character. She was absent minded, unsure of herself and just plain boring. I was also disappointed with Lucy. She always has things under control, or at least she thinks she does, but in this book she was just lost. I kept waiting for something to happen but it never did. The story dragged and was not anything special.
