Lisa Gardner, the New York Times bestselling master of suspense, shatters our idea of suburban tranquility in this sensational thriller that begins with the disappearance of a young mother from her South Boston home. Unfortunately, the only witness to Sandra Jones’ apparent abduction is her four-year-old daughter. What’s more, Detective D.D. Warren senses something off about Sandra’s remarkably handsome husband, Jason. Despite being a reporter with a solid reputation—and alibi—his distress seems forced, and he’s secretive, almost hostile, causing D.D. to question whether the couple’s loving image is nothing but a sham. After all, why is it that, with the clock ticking, the police at a loss and a media firestorm about to explode, Jason Jones seems more intent on isolating his daughter than searching for his wife? D.D. also thinks he’s destroying evidence and she wants to know—make that will know—what it is he’s trying to hide…. The Neighbor is a relentlessly tense thriller that forces us to wonder what secrets lurk behind the closed doors of those we think we know. Because even what appears to be the perfect family can harbor an evil you never see…until it’s too late.

This book stays in line with her other books. Always keeps you guessing until the end. You know it's a good book if after the first chapter your saying to yourself, "where is this going?". You don't put the book down until you get the answers. I will be passing this along to others.

I failed to give it 5 stars with my review. I'd give it 10 stars if that was an option.

This was by far one of the most enjoyable books I've read in quite some time. It captured and held my interest until the very last page. In fact, I even read this book while brushing my teeth each morning and evening (smile). I thoroughly enjoyed this book and have recommended it to my "reading" friends.
