Betrayal

Betrayal, the title of Danielle Steel’s thrilling new novel, is the last thing on the mind of 39-year-old film director Tallie Jones. After all, having garnered worldwide acclaim for her productions, Tallie has never failed to graciously acknowledge those central to her success. What’s more, for all the accolades, Tallie is a down-to-earth woman who cherishes her college-age daughter and aging father far more than her job’s requisite fame and fortune, as does her collaborator—and lover—Hunter Lloyd. In other words, Tallie leads a “normal” life that she owes, in part, to her long-time friend and personal assistant, Brigitte Parker; her glamour balances Tallie’s natural beauty, and her fathomless drive has benefited them both. Then, abruptly, Tallie’s smooth-sailing life hits a major squall….

An outside audit that uncovers troubling discrepancies in Tallie’s financial records soon leads to the disclosure that someone has been funneling off enormous amounts of her money. Suddenly faced with the dark side of celebrity, Tallie casts herself in a real-life drama as she sets out through a minefield of hurt to trap a predator and, if necessary, forge a new beginning.

Not Her Best
February 07, 2013

The writer repeats herself continuously. Her earlier books were much better.

Can't put this book down.....but......
February 03, 2013

a little predictable and the typos so far feel insulting to Ms. Steel and to me, as the reader. Please, Ms. Steel, find someone to proof your books that actually reads them!!

STUNK

If this was her first book it would never have been published!!! There was not much of a story to tell. I don't know what the other reviewers read.
