1898. Bound for Chicago, the freighter Jerry McGuen goes down in Lake Michigan, taking with it every soul on board. It shouldn’t have been a surprise—after all, what other fate could befall a vessel carrying the ill-gotten sarcophagus of an Egyptian sorcerer? Just because a curse is unspoken doesn’t make it any less deadly.
Cut to the present, as a veteran diver—exploring the legendary wreck for a documentary—inexplicably dies inside the freighter’s main saloon. When another diver is killed, it’s the last straw, and rumors of undead demons and ancient curses begin to rise like bubbles from the lake.
So begins The Unspoken, part of Heather Graham’s Krewe of Hunters series. Called in to make sense of the case are paranormal investigator Katya Sokolov and media forensics guru Will Chan. From the moment they meet, they’re shocked by the intensity of the electricity arcing between them, even though they realize that their newfound attraction could be a distraction that they can’t afford. Because their job is to probe the depths of the lake, to seek out an evil that may date back to the time of the Pharaohs…and the slightest mistake could strand them in that watery grave for all eternity.

I really enjoy the series, The Krewes. You quickly immerse yourself with the characters and the storyline. Still got a little more to read, but boy was I wrong about the "whodunnit"

Made the hair on the back of my neck stand up in more than one place. It caught me off-guard, just when I thought I had it figured out, I would be soooooo wrong . Great one or two day read. Can't wait to read all of the series.

This was a good read but it did tend to drag on a bit. Not enough suspense for my taste. The other 'Krewe' books have been wonderful, but kinda disappointed in this particular one.
